Do you lose your UW customers if you take a break? No quotas, and your residual income keeps going

Do You Lose Your UW Customers If You Stop Signing People Up?

It's one of the first things people ask me when they're thinking about becoming a UW Partner: "If life gets busy and I stop signing people up for a while, do I lose the customers I've already got?"

No, you don't lose your UW customers. There are no quotas to hit, and you keep earning a monthly income from the customers you've introduced for as long as they stay with Utility Warehouse.

That's what makes the UW Partner opportunity such a good fit around a job, a family or retirement. Here's how it works, straight from UW's own guidance.

Why you don't lose your UW customers when you slow down

There are no quotas

Utility Warehouse doesn't set Partners monthly targets. In its official guide to earning as a Partner, UW confirms there are no mandatory quotas and you work at your own pace. A quiet month doesn't cost you the business you've already built.

Your residual income keeps coming in

As well as an upfront payment for each customer you help switch, you earn a residual income: between 1% and 6% of your customers' monthly bills. UW pays that for as long as those customers remain with UW, whether you signed someone up last week or three years ago.

You choose your own hours

UW says many Partners start with just 3 to 5 hours a week alongside a full-time job. Some weeks you'll do more, some weeks less. Your customers stay yours either way.

So what actually grows a UW Partner income?

Your income follows your customers, and that's good news, because it means two simple things build it up:

  • Looking after the customers you have. Happy customers stay with UW for years, and every month they stay, you earn. A quick check-in, answering a question, or helping when they move house all keeps that income flowing.
  • Adding new customers at a pace that suits you. Every new household adds to your monthly income. Even one or two a month makes a real difference over time.

Put your early energy into the first milestones

When you first join, UW has some early milestones that unlock more of the earning plan. That's where it pays to put a bit of extra energy in your first few weeks. I will walk you through exactly what they are and help you reach them. After that, you can settle into whatever pace works for you.

What could your pace add up to?

Whether you've got an hour or two a week or a bit more, it helps to see what that effort could build. Answer three quick questions and my calculator will show you the kind of monthly income Partners aim for at your level.

These ranges show what UW Partners put in and aim for at different levels of effort. They are not a promise. What you earn depends on the effort and consistency you put in. Joining costs £10 (one-off), then £3 a month for training, support and tools. All UW Partners are personally responsible for declaring any income they earn. It's illegal for a promoter or a participant in a trading scheme to persuade anyone to make a payment by promising benefits from getting others to join a scheme. Do not be misled by claims that high earnings are easily achieved.

What happens if you take a break?

Say you have a busy spell at work, a new grandchild, or a few months away in the sun. You can step back from signing people up, and the customers you've already introduced carry on as normal. When you're ready, you pick up where you left off. That flexibility is one of the main reasons people from all walks of life, including plenty of retirees, choose to become Partners.
