UW Connector vs UW Partner
If you've been looking at earning with Utility Warehouse, you'll have come across two routes in:
UW Connector vs UW Partner.
They get mixed up constantly — I'm asked about the difference more than almost anything else — so here's the plain-English version of how each works, what they pay, and which one actually fits your situation.
I'm Alexander, an independent UW Partner based in Glasgow, and I've helped people down both routes. Neither is "better" — they're built for different people, and picking the right one for you matters more than picking the bigger number.
What is a UW Partner?
A Partner is the active route. You register as a Utility Warehouse Partner for £10, get full training, and then help people switch to UW — sitting down with them, running through what they currently pay, and handling the switch when it saves them money. You can also build a team of Partners under you if you want to take it further, though plenty don't and just work their own customers.
On earnings: UW says Partners can receive up to £300 in upfront commission for each eligible customer taking three or more core services, plus a share of ongoing monthly income while those customers stay. The work is flexible — evenings, weekends, around a job — but it is work: earnings depend entirely on the effort you put in, and they're not guaranteed.
What is a UW Connector?
A Connector is the hands-off route. You don't sell anything, run appointments, or build anything, you simply refer people to UW, a Partner (like me) does the actual review and switch, and you receive a payment when your referral becomes a customer. UW says that's up to £300 per customer referred.
It's free to become a Connector, there's no target, no minimum, and no ongoing commitment.
That's why it suits people who have a network but not the time: shop owners, tradespeople, hairdressers — anyone whose customers trust them, and it's why it works so well for Clubs and Charities, Local Communities, Grassroots Football Clubs, Salons, Barbers, Estate Agents, Letting Agents, Dance Academies etc. that points its supporters toward UW turns everyday household bills into a genuine fundraising stream, without anyone at the club lifting a finger beyond sharing a link.
UW Connector vs UW Partner — side by side
| UW Connector | UW Partner | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost to start | Free | £10 (includes full training) |
| What you do | Refer people — that's it | Help customers switch; optionally build a team |
| Time needed | Minutes — share a link, mention it in conversation | A few hours a week upward, you choose |
| Earnings (per UW) | Up to £150 per referred customer | Up to £300 upfront per eligible customer + ongoing monthly share |
| Ongoing income | No — per-referral payments | Yes — residual income while customers stay |
| Best suited to | Busy business owners, clubs, charities, anyone with a trusted network | Anyone wanting a genuine flexible side income they can grow |
| Support | A Partner handles your referrals for you | Training from UW + local mentoring |
All earnings figures are UW's stated maximums — actual earnings vary and are not guaranteed.
So which route is right for you?
Choose Connector if you're time-poor but people-rich. You run a busy shop, salon, or trade; you chair a club or help run a charity; or you just know everyone on your street. You want something for the recommendations you'd probably make anyway, with zero admin.
Choose Partner if you actually want to build something. You've got a few hours a week, you like talking to people, and the idea of income that keeps arriving from work you did months ago appeals to you. It's slower to start than a referral payment, but it compounds.
And if you're not sure — start as a Connector. It's free, it risks nothing, and it lets you watch how the whole thing works from the inside. Plenty of the best Partners started exactly that way, upgraded once they saw their referrals turning into real payments, and lost nothing by starting small.
How I fit in
Whichever route you pick, you're not doing it alone. As a Glasgow-based Partner covering the rest of Scotland, & the UK, I handle the reviews and switches for my Connectors' referrals, and I mentor new Partners through their first customers — the £10 gets you UW's training, but having someone who's actually done it is what gets you moving.

I'm Alexander Moody, an Independent Utility Warehouse Authorised Partner based in Glasgow, helping households across the UK cut their bills, and up to £150 to go shopping :)
I'm also helping folk earn as UW Partners you can make up to £300.00 per switch, details are on the Partner Page and or, for Business folk, UW Connectors, again more details here at the Connectors Page, where the rewards are anything up to £150.00
So if this interests you, then get in touch.
Have a look at whichever fits your situation. No pressure, no commitment — just the detail so you can decide for yourself.
