Frequently Asked Questions
Energy Bill Savers helps households across Glasgow, the rest of Scotland & the UK cut the cost of their Gas, Electricity, Broadband, Mobile and Insurance through Utility Warehouse — with a FREE, no-obligation Home Energy Costs Review that shows you the actual numbers before you decide anything. We're an independent Utility Warehouse Authorised Partner, and below are straight answers to the questions we hear most — including the awkward ones.
For Households
Everything about the FREE review, switching, and whether UW is right for you.
Do you charge for a home costs review?
No — every review is completely FREE with no obligation. We look at what you currently pay for gas, electricity, broadband, mobile and insurance, show you the numbers, and you decide. No pressure, no catch.
How does the home costs review work?
You share a recent bill or two (or just rough figures), and we compare what you're paying now against Utility Warehouse's bundled prices for the same services. You'll see a clear side-by-side comparison. It usually takes around 20 mins, in person, by phone, or by Zoom or WhatsApp link — and don't worry, neither of us appears on screen at any time.
Is Utility Warehouse actually cheaper?
Honest answer: not for every household — and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling, not helping. UW's value comes from bundling services together, so it works best when you take two or more services. For some people who enjoy chasing separate deals across separate suppliers every year, standalone tariffs can win. That's exactly why we do the review: we put your real numbers side by side, and if UW doesn't save you money, we'll tell you straight.
Is Utility Warehouse legit?
Yes. Utility Warehouse is owned by Telecom Plus, a company founded in 1996 and listed on the London Stock Exchange. It's fully regulated like any major UK supplier: its energy services are regulated by Ofgem, its broadband and mobile services by Ofcom, and its insurance products are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). It supplies energy, broadband, mobile and insurance to hundreds of thousands of UK households, has won multiple industry awards, and is consistently praised for its UK-based customer service.
Do I have to switch all my services to UW?
No. UW works best as a bundle — the more services you take together, the better the value tends to be — but you choose which services to move and when. We'll show you what each option looks like so you can decide what suits your household.
What if I'm still in a contract with my current supplier?
You may not need to wait. UW currently offers up to £400 towards early termination fees with your existing suppliers when you switch, and new customers taking two or more services get a 30-day window to change their mind without penalty. We'll check the current terms for your situation as part of your FREE review.
Will my supply be interrupted when I switch?
No. Switching supplier is an administrative change — your gas, electricity and broadband keep running throughout. UW handles the changeover with your current suppliers, and most services start switching within days.
What is the UW Price Pledge?
It's UW's money-saving promise to new customers. Currently, if you switch three or more services and don't see savings in your first year, UW pays you double the difference back and lets you leave without exit fees. Terms and conditions apply — we'll talk you through the current details during your review.
What is the UW Cashback Card?
It's a prepaid card exclusive to UW customers that earns cashback on everyday shopping — at a wide range of popular retailers, in-store and online — and the cashback comes straight off your monthly UW bill. For many households it's a meaningful extra saving on top of the bundle. We'll show you how it works during your review.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover Glasgow, Scotland and the rest of the UK. We're based in Glasgow, so reviews can be done in person locally, or anywhere by phone, Zoom or WhatsApp link — and don't worry, neither of us appears on screen at any time. We just talk through the numbers together.
What happens after my review?
If the numbers work for you, we can help you switch there and then or whenever suits — UW handles the changeover with your current suppliers. If they don't, no problem at all: you keep the comparison and we part as friends.
Ready to see your own numbers? The review is FREE, takes about 20 minutes, and there's no obligation.

For Clubs, Charities & Community Groups
How the UW Connector route helps local organisations raise ongoing funds.
Can my football club or charity really raise funds this way?
Yes — the UW Connector route pays organisations a referral payment for each customer who joins through them. It's a simple way for football clubs, local communities, charities, estate agents, letting agents, dance academies, salons and barbers — or anybody who has daily contact with members of the public through their work — to raise ongoing funds. Happy to explain exactly how it works, with no commitment needed.
What does our organisation actually have to do?
Very little — that's the point. Your organisation simply lets its members, supporters or community know about the savings opportunity; we handle every review and switch personally. There's nothing to sell, no stock, and no admin burden on your volunteers.
How much can an organisation raise?
It depends entirely on how many of your supporters choose to switch — there are no guarantees and we won't pretend otherwise. What we can say is that the referral payments are anything up to £150.00 when your referral switches. We'll walk your committee through the current payment structure so you can judge it for yourselves.
Are you a Football Club, Local Community, Charity, Estate Agent, Letting Agent, Dance Academy, Salon or Barber — or anybody who has daily contact with members of the public through their work? Let's have a no-pressure chat about whether the Connector route fits.

Becoming a UW Partner
Straight answers about the Partner opportunity — including the question everyone Googles.
Is Utility Warehouse a pyramid scheme?
No — and it's a fair question to ask, so here's the straight answer. Pyramid schemes are illegal in the UK and pay people for recruitment rather than for selling anything real. Utility Warehouse is a listed UK company supplying real services, and Partners earn commission when genuine customers sign up for those services. The Partner programme is a form of direct selling (sometimes called network marketing), which is legal and regulated. If anyone promises you easy riches from it, walk away — from them, not necessarily from UW.
Can I earn an income as a UW Partner?
Yes. Utility Warehouse Partners earn by helping households save on their everyday services, working flexibly around existing commitments. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme — income depends on the work you put in — but we're happy to talk you through how it works and what's involved in getting started.
What does it cost to become a Partner?
There's a small one-off joining fee, which gets you your starter materials, training and back-office access. The amount changes from time to time, so we'll confirm the current fee when we chat — and we'd never encourage anyone to join without understanding exactly what's involved first.
Do I need sales experience to be a Partner?
No. Most Partners start with no sales background at all — the role is really about having genuine conversations with people about saving money, and UW provides training and support. If you can chat to a neighbour, you can do this.
